It’s that time of year when we all begin to count our blessings, but if you have just moved to the Branson area and all your friends and family live elsewhere, you may start feeling a little blue. Your immediate family is definitely a blessing, but it’s always difficult starting over, so we’ve compiled this list of  activities that will help you feel a part of your new neighborhood during Thanksgiving in Branson. If you’re considering moving during this most wonderful time of year, let us welcome you to the neighborhood and perhaps we will find the house of your dreams!

Start Thanksgiving in Branson with a Brisk Walk Through the Woods

There may still be boxes waiting to be unpacked and you may not even know where your grandmother’s lace tablecloth is, but the panoramic views you can see outside your window are beckoning. Fall is the most beautiful time of the year, and a walk through the colorful countryside of your new neighborhood can center your thoughts and feed your soul.

Run a 5K

We all say it: This year we will practice moderation and only fill our plates once, or eat one dessert. And then Thanksgiving arrives and the food tastes so incredible, we find ourselves overeating, popping the button off our jeans, and regretting our choices! Starting the day with the Ozarks Running Club annual Turkey Trot 5K is the perfect way to be proactive and possibly meet some of your new neighbors!

Let Someone Else Prepare Your Feast

Those boxes we talked about earlier also may be hiding dishes and pans and other accessories needed to create a feast to remember, so why not let someone else do the cooking (and the cleaning!) this wonderful Thanksgiving Day? The Keeter Center at the College of the Ozarks offers a delicious brunch that lasts all day and is prepared by chefs of the future. These students will be working hard to learn their craft, so you will be doing them a favor by partaking! Other restaurants also serving dinner on Thanksgiving include McFarlain’s Family Restaurant, Fall Creek Steakhouse, and Castle Rock’s Tower Grill.

Take in a Show

Many of our local theaters are offering Thanksgiving shows, so why not take the chance to see what’s up? This is a good time to experience the beginning of the Christmas shows, including Dixie Stampede Christmas and Christmas on the Trail Chuckwagon Dinner Show; both are wonderful and heartwarming and are a perfect way to prepare for the Christmas season!

Moving Can Be a Lonely Experience

But when you have Sunset Realty Services helping you find the perfect home, you’ll always have a friend. Schedule an appointment today and spend this Thanksgiving in Branson exploring your new hometown!
